There are numerous forms of diabetes. However they are classified into three main categories namely: Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and Gestational Diabetes.
Type 1 Diabetes (insulin dependent disease)
This is surely an autoimmune disease, which happens when the body immunity system turns against a part with the body. The body’s defense mechanism attacks the insulin producing beta cells inside the pancreas, hereby destroying them. This lead to pancreas producing little or no insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes (Non insulin dependent disease)

Symptoms can include fatigue or nausea, frequent urination, unusual thirst, weight-loss, blurred vision, frequent infections and slow healing of wounds or sores. Some people haven’t any symptoms.
As the name suggest, it happens only during pregnancy. It occurs commonly among women using a ancestors and family history of diabetes. Women who experienced gestational diabetes are more inclined to contract diabetes type 2 symptoms within a couple of years.
Besides these, other rarer varieties of diabetes like diabetes insipidus, juvenile diabetes and feline diabetes also exist.
